YG Entertainment’s ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’ Episode 6 - a review by giditopi

The 6th Episode of YG Entertainment's Reality Show 'Who is Next' is up! It's not only Team A vs Team B battle, but also Taeyang vs G-Dragon battle. So, who is the winner decided by Bigbang and 2NE1 members? Have you vote for them??

This episode started with Team A and B's rehearsal before their actual 1st battle that the viewer will vote. They also discussed about the performances with their producer, Taeyang for team A and  GD for team B. Taeyag said that they couldn't be nervous because, if they nervous they will lose. Team B also discussed about the different between their practice room and the stage. Both of the producer said that this is the boys first performance in the stage, so they also know how it feel and hope their team will do alright without being nervous.

GD is the type that concentrate more in their performance while Taeyang more concentrate in maintaining Team A's vocal. Both of them keep supporting their team with their advice. I really like Taeyang advice. He said "I don't think that a dream is something for people to fight over, but rather, it exists so that people can continue chasing it until they die. You have to be grateful for your dreams every day."

After all BIGBANG members and 2NE1 member arrived, they have a discussion before the battle. (kyaaa love this part so much BB, 2NE1 and their Sajangnim (YG) have a very close relationship). YG said that they have to judge objectively and give them advice so that the boys would improve. Seungri said that in Bigbang case, they don't have any battle like this and he thought that both team are 10 or 20 more nervous than Bigbang. But, YG said in Bigbang and 2NE1 case, they took along time because they depend only on themselves, but today after Bigbang receive a lot of money, the environment become better so it also good for the boys. Dara said that Jinwoo is kinda similar to her, so he wanna cheer him up. Minzy and Bom said that B.I caught their attention because his sincerity and his leadership skill. Daesung said Team B is doing good right now, but his hearts going to Team A. G-Dragon said that Team A has something that very messy and because it's tacky soit become more emphasized, but even they're flawed but Team A can move people with their charm, because they're more interesting. While he said Team B is so perfect, so there's nothing exciting about them. TOP said that, the one who fit YG style, he want to meet the team. (YG joked that TOP saying this with preparation to look cool kkk)

And finally, the it's the battle time! YG choose Seungri to flip coin and decided who will perform first. Team B won, and GD choose Team A to go first. They performed Taeyang's Look Only at Me with their own style. They changed the music from sad song into interesting song in reggae style and kinda R&B too. I think the performance was clean, and their vocal totally good. Park Bom commented that their visual is awesome, especially Nam Taehyun. Lee Seunghoon also bring back his confidence and it's a good thing. Seungri also said that. Jinwoo also amazed Seungri that he is going better and better. Dara said that everything is good, but since she is noona, she needs eye contact more kkk. Daesung said that their performance is like a newly opened restaurant and it's a bit disappointing. TOP said Mino should show his strength, and he praised Seunghoon. YG said that the performance was better than he was originally expected.

Team A performs Look Only at Me 

Team B perform One of A Kind. GD said to staff that the MR should be adjust. They perform everything well. They add a lot of ad lib such cute expression and what i liked the most is Bobby rap part and Junhwe part. Other than that i don't really buy it.Why? because it still sound GD-ish. And what i really want is something different than GD. kkk. Minzy praised B.I leadership (again), Daesung said their vocal missing a bit of power. TOP? he's going crazy by Bobby's rap (kkk me too). CL said that in Team A you can see their own character, but in Team B you can't, but Team B's performance was perfect for her.

Dance Battle. Team A perform Wedding Dress and Team B perform That XX and Crayon. Both team show their dancing ability in different ways, it also because Team A perform sad song and Team B mixed sad song and fun song together. Team A's dancing was better than i expected, it's powerful and you can see that their emotion and expression of the song. Team B also doing good with That XX and dancing is their speciality, so they're really confident. Team B used a bit the choreography from I.AM.Me crew, while Team A doing their own choreography. Seungri, Daesung and Dara praised both team, while TOP said that Team A has no impacts, Team B has so many impacts, but they had no focus point. CL and Bom totally love Team B dance.

The results? Bigbang Seungri and TOP choose Team A, while 2NE1 and Daesung choose Team B. It's 5:2 for Team B. Congratulations Team B for winning their sunbae's heart!! Mino said that his team lost because they a bit nervous, but he hope that this lost will be their stepping stone to develop even better. YG said that Team A afraid of confrontation so that they always received bad critics. GD advice Mino to become more open his heart to each member and share his energy. CL also said that this is must be Mino's fault because he can't dragged his member well. Mino also admit this is his fault. Seunghoon said that he pretend to be not afraid, but in his heart he actually scared. He said that Team A must learn the strength that Team B has.

And today, the first battle also have been voted by the viewers? guess who is the Winner? Team A won the official 1st battle with 51.37% and Team B with 48.63%. It's really close!! Congratulations Team A!!!

YG Entertainment’s ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’ Episode 5 - A Review by giditopi

Who Is Next (WIN) the real survival battle already passed 5 episode, 5 more to go and we'll know who'll be the WINNER. This episode is not only Team A vs team B first battle, but also GD vs Taeyang friendship battle. Fyi: In Bigbang Documentary, Taeyang team won. So, who'll be the winner this time?

The story started with the follow-through from the 4th episode, when Team B winning the monthly evaluation battle. This time, YG said that Team A will interpret and arrange Taeyang's song and Team B will does GD song with Taeyang and GD will also help them for their first battle. Both GD and Taeyang also felt confused, why suddenly Sajangnim told them to do this battle. GD said that he always losing when he put on different team with Taeyang, so what about this time?

Team A choose Only Look At Me and Wedding Dress while Team B choose One of A Kind, Crayon and That XX. They started to meet their producer in D-15 of their battle. Taeyang said that team A's performance was not bad, but also not that good either. He said it's because Team A have a lot of pressures because their past losing to team B. He helped member by pointing what they lacked specifically, so team A must fixed it before the battle. He also give a lot of idea for their performance. For GD, Team B really impressed him. But he still point where team B lacked and give them alot of advice such as their expression and also what position is cooler. He is totally a perfectionist. Huwaaaaa :)

They practice really hard, and Taehyun almost injured his arm :'( But, their vocal coach said that team A really have an upgrade. Taeyang said that their performance is perfect, but they need to more enjoying the stage. For team B, GD fixed their problem by telling them know-how of being in the stage. There's also surprise visit by B.I's mother and his little sister Hanbyul, which is really~ cute!

This episode member story is about Team B's Song Yoon Hyeong, Kim Donghyuk and Goo Junhwe. Yoon Hyeong started training on April 2012. He actually didn't have any preparations to become singer, because his dream was to be an actor, even Bobby said that he has no talent in singing or dancing when he first join the team, but now because of his hard work he become someone that the team really need. Kim Donghyuk passed YG audition in November 2012, he is actually someone who love study, the ideal child that your mom will love kkk. Fyi: He won JYP trainee search on March 2012. And the last one, our maknae from Team B, Goo Junhwe. He also joined Kpop Star along with Lee Hi and Lee Seunghoon. At first he didn't like singing as he loves dancing but now he wanted to able to touch the viewer with his voice. After being eliminated in Kpop Star, he started training at YG in April 2012. Team B started with Bobby, B.I and Jinhwan in January 2011. In April 2012, Junhwe join Team B and then Yoon hyeong also joined, then in November the team completed with Donghyuk joined the team.

September 1, 2013, the boys went to GD concert, and we can see that VIP recognized them, took photo of them and calling their name. That's why please YG just debut all of them kkk. They went to GD's waiting room and met YG Family there. They also meet YG's wife and daughter Yoojin.  Seungri said that the boys should make introduction. I saw that they're still nervous, especially Minho. On the other hand, Kang Seung Yoon and B.I seems more relaxed, i think. Sajangnim also asked YG Family who they think would win the battle. Seungri, Minzy and Bom choose Team A, Daesung choose Team B. But Bom said that he also like B.I .That's also our problem bommie :'( The boys enjoying the concert and they also really want to be in that stage and be more desperate to win.

Nam Taehyun, The Prince of 5:5 hair

It's an appreciation post for the lovely maknae of Team A, from YG Entertainment's Reality Show 'Who Is Next : WIN', Nam Tae Hyun, possessor of a mesmerizing voice.

From the first episode of WIN, he already catch my attention because of his hair style, yes! the 5:5 hair style. Normally, people who used this kind of hairstyle look not cool for me, sorry,  but he is really different! It's his characteristic. Nam Taehyun was born on May 10th, 1994. A Taurus and A type blood. Tae Hyun accepted in YG July audition and his voice is really amazing! YG, Teddy, YG Staff and even J.Y Park praised his voice.  Fyi: He is also good in playing Chicken Fight!

Today I'm gonna review about his fashion. From the first episode, I've searched what brand that the boys of team A and team B (we called them OT11) usually wear. From many sources like Big21fashion (http://www.big21fashion.com/), i found that the boy usually wear Boy London, Bratson, and Comme Des Fuckdown, but what about Nam Taehyun? let's see...

For his profie shooting, he used White Embroidered Patch Big Shirt from Kokon To Zai (KTZ) SS 2013 Man Collection which costs £239.00

For his daily practice, i saw that he usually wear Boy London's Boy Cap which costs £35.00,FUKK hats which costs $75.00 and Brixton Snapbacks ($24.00) and tank top ( but idk what brand, sorry) and also short pants. He also looks like someone who is comfortable wearing colorful socks.

For Shoes, in episode 2,I saw he wears Vans Vintage Old Skool Red which costs $55.00

And, for his monthly evaluation, he (and all team A member) wear Big Emblem Raglan Shirt (grey body) from Bratson which Costs 56,000 Won. 

And we can't forget his adorable 5:5 hair style in every situation, even in monthly evaluation kkk!  That's why I called him 'The prince of 5:5 hair, Nam Tae Hyun'

YG Entertainment’s ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’ Episode 4 - A Review by giditopi

It's the special episode of Who Is Next (WIN), it's YG vs JYP trainee battle. Sounds really interesting, right? Remember their friendly battle between BIGBANG VS 2PM and SE7EN VS RAIN? So, who will WIN this time??

The episode started with the profile shooting for WIN advertisement with the boys. They're also Krumping battle for WIN title shoot. They're totally look badass even though they're still young. The result is.......

After that, the scenes back into the last episode, when sajangnim told them to have battle with YG trainee. Yes, they were shocked! But i think the viewers really anticipated this episode a lot! or is it just me...kkk Though it's friendly battle, but i think it's really worth to see. Why? because it's trainee battle, they will be the next generation of K-Pop Music, so I'm excited about their talent and anticipating their performance too and hoping that they'll present us such a great performance. 

The battle included in three areas, rap, dance and vocal. Sajangnim will pick who will be the representative for each area by video test and also on the spot. What??  Because of that, the boys have to show they performance at that time. Team A's rapper Song Minho and Lee Seunghoon amazed us with their rap performance, and Seunghoon really an entertainer kkk. Team B's rapper B.I and Bobby also doing good. For the Vocal, Sajangnim said that Team B is better than Team A, because Team A look like copying BIGBANG. So, the day before their battle, they're still practicing and Team A changed their song just like 12 hours before the battle :'( YG Y U SO CRUEL! Unfortunately, Kim Jinwoo of Team A continuously messing up with the lyrics because he never sung I Already Have A Woman (by J.Y.Park) before. That's why Kang Seung Yoon felt worried about him. On the other hand, Rapper line from Team A and B form a rapper team, which is Song Minho's dream for a long time. Team B's leader, B.I also said that they'll definitely win the rap battle. 

The day they went to JYP building, we can see the boys enjoying the ride in the bus and singing JYP song such as 2PM 'Heartbeat' and 2AM 'Can't Let You Go Even If I Die'. But, you can see that Jinwoo is memorizing the lyrics alone. B.I also memorizing his rap part but it seems that he can't memorize it too. After they arrived to JYP Building, they met J.Y Park and JYP trainee, and yes the battle is ON!!

First round is Rap battle. JYP trainee include Jackson from Hongkong,Younghyun from Canada and Mark from LA. They perform Drop It Like Ot's Hot by Snoop Dog and bring us such a different quality of JYP usual rapper style, which is really good improvement for JYP. I personally like Jackson rap. YG rap alliance team  perform YMGA 'What' with their own lyrics and perform such a perfect performance and i felt like watching professional rap battle. JYP and YG praised it and said that the performance really entertaining, even (we knew that) B.I forgot his rap lyrics. I can slightly saw YG knew his wrong part kk

it's so good to see JYP and YG trainee having fun like this :)

Second round is dance battle. JYP prepare 4 trainee, Yookyum, Bambam (the cutie one kkk), Mark and Jackson. They said that their freestyle is different than YG and Bambam said that they're good-looking (that's true!). They perform an awesome dance and acrobatic, which is lacks in YG. Well, i think the viewers really shocked to see Mark's unexpected last acrobatic. It was totally awesome! YG said his favoring Bambam. Team B, as the representative of YG, also doing good performance, J.Y Park pointed that the boys need to feel the beat more because they went too fast dancing and not hearing the beat. He also pointed that Bobby dance much slower than the beat, but JYP said it was cool performance.

Third round is Vocal battle, JYP team include Park Jaehyung (KPOP STAR), Wonpil, Joonhyuk, Sungjin and Yonghyun prepare an instrument for their song from Kim Gunmo "Can't Fall Asleep as The Rain Falls". For YG team, Sajangnim asked JYP trainee to choose between team A and B, and the trainees choose Team A to perform. Kang Seung Yoon said he is really nervous at that time, because he had trauma with JYP comment  when he was in Superstar K. They perform mash up between GD&TOP Baby Goodnight and J.Y. Park I Already Have A Woman. Everything went good. Unfortunately, Jinwoo really can't remember the lyrics, so Kang Seung Yoon took him part and the atmosphere become different. Jinwoo oppa :'( hwaiting!! YG said he was angry at him because he messed up with JYP Lyrics in front of JYP himself and JYP said that he was hurt by it. But, JYP said hwaiting to him and said it'll be a good learning for him in the future. He also praised Seung Yoon that he already break out his bad vocal and also said that Taehyun really have a great set of talents. YG asked JYP, which team that he would choose from the results of the battle, JY said he felt more affectionate at Team A, but if he want to invest his money, he would choose Team B. 

After the battle, YG went to the boys bus and said that he was embarrassed, but also imagine what they feeling so he said that the boys must back to their practice. Jinwoo also shed tears in the interview because he messed up the lyrics, he felt apologized to YG, his member and also Team B, he said he will work even more harder than before. YG Entertainment’s ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’ Episode 3 - A Review by giditopi

Who Is Next (WIN) the real survival battle already passed 3 episode. This episode is about how the boys practice for their June Evaluation. Last episode, we knew that Team A had teamwork problem, what about this episode? Is Team B will win YG's Staff heart this time?

This episode start with their D-7 preparation to their monthly evaluation, unfortunately 2 member of Team A, Kang Seung Yoon & Lee Seung Hoon, have problem with their health. Kang Seung Yoon can't move his neck and even use brace to hold his neck, and Lee Sung Hoon have back pains and even received acupuncture, it's all because they're too exhausted :'( But because of that, Team A felt more care abput each other and can feel that they're become more solid.

On the other hands, Team B have problem with Kim Donghyuk and Goo Jun Hwae, the same age member who fight and said that they're not having good relationship, which make the oldest hyung in Team B, Kim Jinhwan, a little bit upset. However, it's just a prank for Jinhwan, because the member just wanna make Jinhwan laugh. Since he become depressed after knowing about this WIN thing, the member felt worried, so they prepared this little event to him :')

This episode member story is about Kim Jinhwan. He accepted in January 2011 audition by singing Taeyang's I Need A Girl, YG said  that he will monitor him for just one month but because Jinhwan have a lot of improvement, YG decided to join in Team B. YG said that he is very much like Taeyang (that's true kk) his sincere, quiet but talented, just like Taeyang. Here is his unrealesed performance, singing Usher's There Goes My Baby.

Then, we'll see Team A went to Itaewon to buy outfits for their performance, they even went to fortune teller to see their luck in this competition. After that, both team seriously taking rehearsals in YG building, Team A said that they have change a lot, especially in their teamwork, so that they can beat Team B. 

And, this is my favorite part, their dorm activities kkk i really like to watch these boys activities in their dorm, because we can see their real cute and charm kkk. Team B busy preparing for their trip to beach, while team A making me laughing so hard kkk. It started when Seunghoon bought panties for his member, but it turned out that he bought briefs hahahahaha. Their member reaction when he give it to them is also funny. Lee Seunghoon said that he is the stylist in his team. In my opinion, he has so much interest in fashion, you can see his daily dressing is different from the others kkk. On the other hand, Seungyoon creating matching hats for the member for tomorrow evaluation until night, really nice boy :') 

Finally it's the D-Day! YG and staff gather in Dance studio, there's also Epik High Tablo&Tukutz, Lee Hi, Choice37 and Lydia Paek. The battle begin with Team A performs Alicia Keys 'New Day' and Call of the Ambulance and Welcome to My Hood by DJ Khaled for the dance. Team B performs T-Pain 'Turn All The Lights On' and 6 Foot 7 Foot from Lil Wayne for the dance. Tablo said that he enjoys Team B performance, but their rapper coach said that Team A improves a lot. In the end, Team B won the monthly evaluation by 15:10. They got reward for this, yep, trip to a beach. While Team A must go to their practice room. YG said that Team A choose the wrong song, but their performance had improved.

After practicing, Team A back to their dorm and they got surprised from YG, he said "Be Strong, From YG" along with dinner presents. YG is such a sweet sajangnim kkk. Team A felt so touched about this.

Both Team went to YG Building and got shocked, because YG said there'll be battle between trainee from YG and trainee from JYP. And what's next? it will be continue in the next episode, we just have to wait kkk. YG Entertainment’s ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’ Episode 2 - A Review by giditopi

The Real Survival Battle is continued. This episode showing us the hardship being a trainee,  conflict between the members,  and also surprise visit by Block B Zico and Epik High. 

The episode showing behind the scene of their press conference in August 20. The boys dressed up to meet 150 reporters, but they said that they felt more pressured by YG rather than the reporters. kkk. 

After their May evaluation in the first episode, Team A and B back to their practice routine. Team A having more pressured because they lost in the May evaluation. They're trying to get YG attention, with their song for this June evaluation. Taehyun suggest to perform "New Day" from Alicia Keys. The hyungs accepted it and they started to practice for vocal and choreography. But then, suddenly Taehyun said he is not confidence to sing 'New Day' because he can't reach the high note just like Alicia Keys, of course the other member having a panic because he is the main vocal. The member discussed it and also (a bit) scolding him.

In the interview Taehyun cried and also felt that his presence in the team is nothing. I felt sorry for him, but also (a bit) angry to him, he is the one that suggest the song, but he seems not like a pro. I'm sorry for him because it's a normal thing, when you felt your ability can't do that, isn't it gonna be better if you said it out? rather than keeping inside and then your monthly evaluation you failed.

Team B also having problem with Donghyuk and Yoonhyung ability to sing, but the have Jinhwan who helped them to get the right notes. Their teamwork is really good. The next day when they're practice, YG came and giving them advice for the next evaluation. Team B is not showing their enjoyment on stage, also Yoonhyung and Donghyuk position in the group is still awkward. For team A, the problem is Nam Taehyun can't reach high note (see, they should do sth about it). 

Then, the story about Nam Taehyun begin. He accepted in 2011 July audition and sang Mika's "Blame it on the Girls". He felt that after came to YG, he realized the real battle between the trainee, he changed his music style to get into YG's style and he did it, but when he felt tired he couldn't control his emotion. You can see his adorable voice when he sang Snow Flower. I really love his voice. 

The next member story is Kim Ji Won aka Bobby, the clown and the rapper of Team B. He came from US to pursue his music career and become the pillar of support for his family, he accepted in 2011 January audition. He used video call to communicate with his family, it's really heartbreaking story for me. He is just 17 years old boy, and he started to leave his family to live as a trainee when he's 15. He started to cry when his family gather to video call with him.  He also composed song in unreleased video, the title is Probably Perfect, i really love this song. but, why it has to be auto tuned, bobby please don't ever used auto tuned again, please.....

We also can see B.I, Bobby and Jinhwan close relationship in this episode, the even called themselves as Bural Chingu (only used for men only kkk). They went to Jinhwan's hometown in Jeju and having fun while also making song title " Beautiful , Jeju Island) :') such a talented trio. The said to Jinhwan's mom that they even bathe together (omo!) kkk

Back to Team A, Minho is the new leader and member said that he changed his habit a lot after being the leader. But, minho's direct word create an uncomfortable situation, Seungyoon said to Minho, that is the latest to join the group, so the member, especially Taehyun can't accepted when Minho being harsh. Minho said that it's because he also felt rushed and he can't control his emotion at that time. And yesss! Block B ZICO surprise visit to give minho know-how to become good leader. FYI, Minho was a Block B trainee and also an underground rapper just like Zico, they are known as best friend which already made a lot of mix tape together. yes i mean it, A LOT!!.

YG sends Team A to go rafting to improve their teamwork. The rafting is succeed and the member said they'll be more close to each other. There's also surprise visit by Epik High, they said that Minho is look like mixed of G-Dragon and Taeyang. They suggest to Team A to be put more energy when singing and for Team B to be more confidence.

YG Entertainment’s ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’ Episode 1 - A Review by giditopi

YG Entertainment’s ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’, a program to determine the formation of its newest group,first aired on August 23, 2013, 10 PM on Mnet and 11.20 PM on TVN. This is labeled as the real survival battle, which divides YG’s 11 long-term trainees into Teams A and B for a fierce battle to debut. 

Team A consists of Superstar K2 Kang Seung Yoon, SBS Kpop Star Lee Seung Hoon, Former member of BoM Song Minho, YG longest trainee Kim Jinwoo and maknae Nam Taehyun. Team B consists of B.I (child rapper in MC Mong's Indian Boy), Kim Jiwon (Bobby), Kim Jinhwan, Goo Junhoe, Kim Donghyuk and Song Yoonhyeoung. Team A's average age is 20, while team B's average age is 17.

In the first episode, we can see the journey of 2NE1 and BIGBANG before debut, struggle and uncertain future are their everyday life. Now, is the chance for both team to be the Winner. WIN is also stand for Who Is Next, and the winner of this program will be name WINNER, yes, that's the name of the group..... 

This episode start with both team in May evaluation, 31st of  May 2013, the first announcement of the program to all the boys. Of course, they are shock and confused at first. Also, team B said that they're lack of confidence baecause Team A have Kang Seung Yoon and Lee Seung Hoon, who's already familiar by the viewer. Team A perform Trey Songz's 'Heart Attack', and Team B perform Rihanna's 'Hard' in front of YG and staff. After the performance, YG said that Team B did better than Team A. YG also choose Song Minho as the leader of Team A, while Team B is already have a leader, B.I.  Team B also perform Drake, The Motto, but then after the episode is out, a choreographer said that they're using his dance without permission. 

This episode showing story of the member of the team A, Lee Seunghoon, Kang Seung Yoon, Kim Jinwoo and Team B's B.I. Lee Seunghoon, the genius dancer who already dream being in YG since he is stil a child, B.I the genius leader and rapper which started to rap since child, Kang Seung Yoon said that he is the Survival competition representative and also sad story of the longest and the hardworker Kim Jinwoo who separated with his family for more than 3 years. There's also story when Kang Seung Yoon's debut as solo artist with his single Wild and Young, the member cheered him on the 1st day of the broadcast, while Kim Jinwoo feel a bit envy of him. Kang Seung Yoon himself, said that his activity as solo artist have impact in Team A's performance, because he often skip team practice, he also feel sorry about that.
